I have been told many stories from when I was very young, of myself wondering around with a little Brownie camera (without film),capturing would be images of our home, the trees, the clouds in the sky, sunrise and sunset.
This love of framing the world around me, capturing a time and place has always been with me.
In our Nature is my first exhibition of photographs, taken during travels through the country with my young family. They document our passage through powerful landscapes, their changing light, colours and shapes, and the impact of being part of them for a little while.

What a joy it is to simply make a mark!
Never was this more so than during the strange, disrupted days of this last year.
This series of work had its beginning in lockdown, and as a result is all about my domestic and internal world.
All the collected treasures I surround myself with (bones, insects, shells), and library of reference books, letters, postcards from loved ones, these where my world.
The challenge of observing and rendering gave purpose to the passage of time, how I filled it.
The simple act of making a mark, speaks of deeper things. Our own small, and personal marks in time.

This body of work is in two parts. ‘Hollow’ series looks at the loss of tree hollows (habitat) to urban expansion and industry. Many of the hollows depicted in the series were subsequently lost in the Black Summer Bushfires. ’Lament’ and “Charred Remnant” series explore the impact of these fires on my inner and outer landscapes.
